Evidence-based happiness for all
What’s Happening at MHP?
Partnerships
Arthur M. Blank Foundation
Thanks to a collaborative grant from the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, MHP is working with the University of Montana Safe Schools Center to develop and deliver low cost evidence-based happiness courses and workshops to Montana teachers. Since being awarded the grant in December, 2022, we have already offered:
A 105 minute workshop to 400+ Missoula teachers and school personnel
A one-credit graduate course to 12 educators in Glacier county
A three-credit graduate course to 44 Montana educators
A three-part 4.5 hour workshop series to 25 educators from De Smet School
Families First Learning Lab
Our partnership with Families First Learning Lab allows integration of MHP into our Montana families. We weave our strengths-based approach into workshops, programming, and services provided to orient our communities to a meaningful, well-lived life. Some ways we’ve been doing this:
LIFT - Partnered with Mountain Home Montana’s yearlong LIFT flagship program to teach young moms a variety of wellness practices
Upward Bound - Presented evidence-based Happiness Practices to the high schoolers with Trio Upward Bound
Dream Bigger - Implementing a 6-week Happiness group for Dream Bigger high school participants
August Institute - Presented Weaving Evidence-Based Happiness Practices Into The Lives of Teachers & Students to the educators at the August Institute
Counseling and Parenting Consultations - Integrating practices with clients in counseling and Parenting Consultations
Happy Clips
Participants of our most recent Montana Happiness Foundation Retreat were kind enough to share some of their personal paths to happiness.
We believe mindsets matter.
When someone is feeling suicidal, the natural reaction is to zero-in-on the question, “What’s wrong?”
Asking “what’s wrong” can become a preoccupation, taking mental health professionals and clients deep into negativity. Our holistic, strengths-based approach places equal emphasis on “What’s right?” and “What’s strong?”
